Meta Physical/Caveman Art is a self-portraiture and still life based photography project which deals with questions about human identity. The modern anthropological human exists as a discrete individual with their own goals and desires, but also as one of many in a societal system, as an “other” to be perceived by those they communicate with, as an abstract, thinking “self”, and as a physically acting object on a material plane. In examining these identities, Meta Physical/Caveman Art also recalls and attempts to reconnect with our prehistoric human and pre-human ancestry to seek common threads, fundamentals, universal boundaries in human existence, such as communication, empathy, and longevity.

Through Meta Physical/Caveman Art, I am asking who I am, what that is and means, where that resides, and where it came from.
